Opening and using a blog is quite easy. Believe me, it is. Here's
how you can open a FREE blog at Blogger.com and start using it to
begin marketing your own business! Best of all, it's FREE.
Step One Go to www.blogger.com
Step Two Click on "Create Your Blog Now"
Step Three Complete the form at the "Create an account" page. The
information you'll be typing in is... Username: pick a username
and enter it here Password: pick a password and enter it here Display
name: this is the name that will be displayed every time you write
a blog. Email: your email address Don't forget to check off the
box agreeing to accept their terms of service. Click on Continue
Step Four You'll then be taken to a page to Name Your Blog. Complete
the form on this page. The information you'll be typing in is...
Blog Title : pick a title for your blog - usually your business
name Blog Address : enter your business name or website name. Make
sure there are no spaces between words. Ex: if your company name
is Roxy Radiators. You would enter the word "roxyradiators" in this
spot. The Advanced Setup option allows you to place your blog directly
on your website server. This should only be done by your web designer.

Click on Start Posting
Using Your Blog
Entering Text To Your Blog You'll then be taken to your "Posting"
page. Here you will see a place to enter your "title". Let's say
you are introducing your company. So, the title may be "Introduction
to Roxy Radiators in Miami Florida"
Once you have entered your "title" hit the "tab" button on your
keyboard and you will see your blinking cursor move to the large
white spaced box. This is where you will enter your text.
Our recommendation is to type your text on a word document and
then simply copy and paste it onto this area.
If you want others to add comments to your blog you can click on
"allow new comments on this post". Of course, if you do not want
comments from others then check off the "no". You can make visual
changes to your blog very much like you would with any text editor
like Microsoft Word.
You can "bold", "italicize", even change the color of the text.
I recommend to play with all the options available until you become
comfortable.
One icon you may not recognize is the icon directly to the right
of the large "T" and color chart. The icon is a green round object
with a chain link on top. This icon is used when you want to link
certain text on your blog to your website. This is a hyperlink icon.
To use the hyperlink icon, simply use your mouse to highlight the
text you want linked, then click on the hyperlink icon, then enter
the website address you want to viewer to go to.
Adding Photos To Your Blog
To place a photo on your blog you'll have to enter the website
address of your photo (which means that the photo must already be
online, assumingly on your website). The steps are... 1) On your
blog type in
2) Go to your website page where your photo is located.
3) Right click on the photo
4) Choose the bottom option "Properties"
5) Highlight and Copy the Address URL
6) Go back to your Blog and paste the Address URL you just copied
in between the quotation marks of the sentence you typed in..
When you are done, Click on Publish Post To View Your Blog Click
on the View Blog Tab This will also give you the website address
of where your new blog is. Make sure to bookmark your new blog's
website address.
Personalizing your blog with Settings
We recommend clicking on the "settings" tab to further customize
your new blog. If you don't know what the settings mean, review
the "help" section provided by Blogger.com. But, for simple blogging,
it's not necessary to make changes in this area.
For simple blogging, you are finished and good to go!
